Director of hospitality
part time role
Position Summary:
The Director of Hospitality helps people move from first-time visitors to fully engaged members of the church family. They also help current members stay plugged in and informed. This role oversees hospitality, the welcome desk, and volunteer coordination to ensure everyone who walks through the doors experiences a warm, organized, and meaningful welcome.
Key Responsibilities:
• Hospitality & First Impressions: Create a welcoming environment for guests and regular
attendees each Sunday and during special events. Oversee setup and operation of the welcome desk and hospitality areas. Maintain hospitality supplies and collaborate with ministry leaders to make sure we are prepared for Sundays and special events.
• Volunteer Coordination: Recruit, train, and schedule volunteers for hospitality, greeters, ushers, and welcome teams. Provide encouragement and appreciation to volunteers while ensuring alignment with the church’s mission and safety procedures.
• Guest Follow-Up & Assimilation: Manage systems for collecting guest information and following up promptly or passing along their information to the correct staff member.
• Administrative & Communication Duties: Maintain volunteer schedules and records.
Communicate with volunteers and staff to improve connection processes and guest engagement.
Qualifications:
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must have the ability to work under pressure and gracefully handle conflict.
• Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented.
• Experience leading teams or coordinating volunteers preferred.
• Heart for ministry and passion for connecting people to Christ and community.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, bend, reach, and perform other physical tasks as needed.
• Proficient in basic office software; experience with church management software is a plus.

Work Schedule: Part-time (10-15 hours per week) which includes Sundays, work from home tasks during the week, and occasional evenings or events. These hours may vary on ability to recruit new volunteers.
